I am a Software Developer based in Monterrey, México. I have been coding for about 10 years now and have over 7 years of professional experience. Graduated from ITESM in '12 I have worked for several companies on both the development and sustainment areas.
I enjoy solving puzzles. I believe this is something that makes me good at what I do. Every application can be seen as a series of puzzles that need to be solved in order to achieve a goal.
Promoted from Sr. Tech Consultant to Tech Manager.
Moving into a cloud has been a fun challenge, I have now been using multiple clouds and implementing the foundation for automation of resouces through code, which has allowed me to define standards and security, and be able enforce them throughout every future deployment we do. I have become the SME and owner of all Azure Cloud deployments.
As a technical consultant I was able to get experience in a wide variety of areas to support clients, while still performing internal tasks for the firm. I have now started moving towards cloud technologies, mainly using AWS for internal and client deployments. As well as developing internal tools to help managers better administer resources by implementing a queue/authorization for new requests. Also automating backups/restore of instances, databases, etc.
Kalypso is not at all what I imagined; coming from another consulting firm I believed the general feel would be very much alike. Due to the size difference between both firms it was quite a change. I'm happy to continue on the track of Production Support, because, honestly, this is the most interesting part of any application lifecycle.
In order to get this position at Accenture I had to learn Groovy/Grails in about 4-6 weeks, all while still holding a full time job. This was quite a challenge, but I am happy I took it, as this role allowed me to further grow my skills as a support developer in a production setting and gave me quite a bit more responsibilities than what I previously held.
Recently graduated, I rejoined NIC MX for a full time job as a Software Developer. I was assigned to a project for two years from start-to-finish. Once the project ended I was given the option to join the operations team to support the application in production.
First job I held related to technology, I was just a lowly intern tasked with reviewing low to mid level bugs in an existing application. Here I realized out I'm rather good at finding out the root cause of issues. I worked for 8 months, then decided to finish my degree before continuing. I did plan to come back.
Working here originated my passion for coffee. Starbucks is a great place to work, other baristas are usually great, the company itself is awesome. I actually did not drink coffee before joining them, but all the culture they have around coffee just makes it inevitable to start loving it.
First non-family related and official summer job. Kidzania is a theme park aimed at kids where they "work" and "get paid". While working with children may be tiring sometimes, I found it rather fun. I had the chance to work with great people and it was an overall great first workplace.
